Neil McCallum b Langeveldt 1.
South Africa (188 for three) beat Scotland (186 for eight) by seven wickets with 26.4 overs remaining
An absolute stroll for South Africa, but the real business in this group will come on Saturday when South Africa play Australia in what promises to be one of the games of the tournament.
Over 23.2: Kemp hits down the ground for four, and then smashes a huge six down the ground to complete the victory.
South Africa 188/3 (RR: 8.06): Kemp 12* (7), Pollock 0* (0)
Over 23: Pollock is the new batsman for South Africa with just nine runs needed.

South Africa need 9 runs to win from 27 overs at 0.33 runs per over.

GC Smith c Rogers b Haq 91 (65)
Two singles from the first three balls, and Smith launches the next ball over midwicket for six. With a century begging to be taken, Smith clips the final ball of the over straight to short midwicket. Tame end to a cracking knock.
Over 22: Singles for each man start the over, before Smith clumps one over mid-off for four. The only interest left here is whether Smith can get through to a century. He gets a single from the next ball, and a wide adds one more to the total.
South Africa 170/2 (RR: 7.73): Smith 84* (61), Kemp 1* (3)
South Africa need 17 runs to win from 28 overs at 0.61 runs per over.
Over 21: Justin Kemp has been bumped up the order.
South Africa 162/2 (RR: 7.71): Smith 78* (59), Kemp 0* (0)
South Africa need 25 runs to win from 29 overs at 0.86 runs per over.

AP Prince c McCallum b Haq 21 (23)
Prince gets four more with a perfectly-played reverse-sweep that gives third-man no chance even on the slower outfield. Prince drives into the covers for two runs, with sub fielder Ross Lyons doing well to prevent the boundary. Prince and Smith exchange simgles before Prince smashes a rank long-hop straight at McCallum at short cover to give Scotland a second wicket.
Haq to continue.
Over 20: Prince plays a reverse-sweep for two and then gets quickly on the back foot and cuts away for four more. Prince keeps the strike with a single from the final ball, and we now have a game. Needless to say, South Africa are slightly ahead on the calculations.
South Africa 154/1 (RR: 7.70): Smith 78* (58), Prince 13* (17)
South Africa need 33 runs to win from 30 overs at 1.10 runs per over.
Rogers will continue his spell.
The players are back out on the field. The rain can come again in one over's time, as at least the game will be completed then.
Rain Stopped Play:
We're just six balls away from having a game here, but there's just no way they could stay out in this. The game is over as a contest thanks to Smith and de Villiers, but it seems there will be a delay before we can get confirmation. It could even drag pointlessly into tomorrow if the rain doesn't clear.
Over 19: Four singles from the over, but all eyes are on the skies. The rain is hammering down now.
South Africa 147/1 (RR: 7.74): Smith 78* (58), Prince 6* (11)
South Africa need 40 runs to win from 31 overs at 1.29 runs per over.
Over 18: Good footwork from Prince, advancing down the wicket and clipping the left-arm spinner Rogers over midwicket for four. Prince tries an audacious reverse-sweep, but makes no contact. Two overs until we have an official game, and there is rain in the air.
South Africa 143/1 (RR: 7.94): Smith 75* (55), Prince 5* (8)
South Africa need 44 runs to win from 32 overs at 1.38 runs per over.
Over 17: Just three singles from that over as Prince takes some time to acclimatise to conditions in the middle.
South Africa 138/1 (RR: 8.12): Smith 74* (53), Prince 1* (4)
South Africa need 49 runs to win from 33 overs at 1.48 runs per over.
Over 16: Smith gets a single from the final ball of the over.
South Africa 135/1 (RR: 8.44): Smith 72* (51), Prince 0* (0)
South Africa need 52 runs to win from 34 overs at 1.53 runs per over.
Ashwell Prince has been promoted to number three, which will delay this game slightly I fear.

AB de Villiers c Brown b Rogers 62 (45)
Smith pushes a single, but with rain falling de Villiers decides to push things forward. He smashes successive sixes over long-on and long-off, but then picks out Brown at long-on looking for a third.
Over 15: Smith hammers through midwicket for four and adds another boundary with a delicate sweep next ball. He then gets a single, and de Villiers follows his skipper to 50 with a single through midwicket.
South Africa 121/0 (RR: 8.07): Smith 70* (49), de Villiers 50* (41)
South Africa need 66 runs to win from 35 overs at 1.88 runs per over.
De Villiers 50: 41 balls, 9 x 4s
Over 14: Two dot balls to start for Rogers, before Smith works the ball to leg for a single. De Villiers blocks the fourth ball, and then works to leg for a single. Smith gets one from the final ball of the over, but that's a good start from Rogers.

South Africa need 77 runs to win from 36 overs at 2.14 runs per over.
Slow left-armer Glenn Rogers is into the attack.
Over 13: Smith works to leg for two runs to bring up the 100 partnership. He eases down the ground for another single, and de Villiers repeats the shot. Smith gets a single to deep cover. De Villiers gets a gorgeous boundary with a delicte dab out of the keeper's gloves and down to the third-man fence.
South Africa 107/0 (RR: 8.23): Smith 58* (41), de Villiers 48* (37)
South Africa need 80 runs to win from 37 overs at 2.16 runs per over.
Haq is into the attack with his offspin.
Over 12: De Villiers works to leg for two, and then picks up over midwicket for another classy boundary. Brown ends the over with a slower ball, and De Villiers hits back over the bowler's head for a one-bounce four. Fine batting from these two, taking the game rapidly away from Scotland.
South Africa 98/0 (RR: 8.17): Smith 54* (37), de Villiers 43* (35)
South Africa need 89 runs to win from 38 overs at 2.34 runs per over.

South Africa need 99 runs to win from 39 overs at 2.54 runs per over.
Smith 50: 36 balls, 10x 4s
Unsurprisingly the Scots have declined to take the second powerplay.
Over 10: Smith hammers back-to-back boundaries, one through midwicket the other through mid-off, and adds a single to leg from the fifth ball of the over. De Villiers gets a single from the final ball of the over.
South Africa 77/0 (RR: 7.70): Smith 49* (35), de Villiers 27* (25)
South Africa need 110 runs to win from 40 overs at 2.75 runs per over.
Brown is into the attak for Scotland. He struck in his first over against Australia, and Scotland would like a repeat.
Over 9: Smith backs away and heaves to leg for a single. De Villiers stands tall to pull a ball from barely short of a length over midwicket for four.
South Africa 67/0 (RR: 7.44): Smith 40* (30), de Villiers 26* (24)
South Africa need 120 runs to win from 41 overs at 2.93 runs per over.
Over 8: Smith cuts easily behind point for four, and gets two more with a clip through square-leg. Another dropped catch for Watson as Smith cuts hard to gully, and the captain can't take the one-handed chance.
South Africa 62/0 (RR: 7.75): Smith 39* (28), de Villiers 22* (20)
South Africa need 125 runs to win from 42 overs at 2.98 runs per over.
Over 7: Nel's first ball beats Smith's cut shot and bounces in front of wicketkeeper Colin Smith who can't gather and the batsmen get through for a bye. De Villiers plays a controlled pull shot for a single, and Smith plays a more aggressive version over midwicket for four more. Far too short from Nel. The next ball is fuller, but Smith tucks it into the legside for a single. De Villiers gets the ball into the leg for two more.
South Africa 55/0 (RR: 7.86): Smith 32* (23), de Villiers 22* (19)
South Africa need 132 runs to win from 43 overs at 3.07 runs per over.
First change for Scotland, as Dewald Nel comes into the attack.
Over 6: Smith guides the first ball of Blain's over to third-man for a single. De Villiers pulls the next ball to midwicket, where Watson can't hold on to a difficult catch in close. De Villiers gets one for that, and Smith back-cuts the next ball behind point for another boundary. Smith tucks the final ball of the over behind square on the legside for another single.
South Africa 46/0 (RR: 7.67): Smith 27* (20), de Villiers 19* (16)
South Africa need 141 runs to win from 44 overs at 3.20 runs per over.
Over 5: de Villiers plays the first three balls of the over defensively, but cashes in on the fourth which is short and wide and cut hard to the point fence. The final ball of the over is overpitched and de Villiers gratefully climbs in, driving through the covers for four more.
South Africa 39/0 (RR: 7.80): Smith 21* (15), de Villiers 18* (15)
South Africa need 148 runs to win from 45 overs at 3.29 runs per over.
Over 4: Wide half-volley from Blain, and Smith thumps a drive through cover for another boundary. Smith gets two more with a controlled pull shot and then effortlessly puts a leg-stump half-volley away through midwicket. Class batting from these two South Africa openers, and Smith gets another single with a guide to third-man. De Villiers gets a single from the final ball of the over.
South Africa 31/0 (RR: 7.75): Smith 21* (15), de Villiers 10* (9)
South Africa need 156 runs to win from 46 overs at 3.39 runs per over.

South Africa need 168 runs to win from 47 overs at 3.57 runs per over.
Over 2: The first ball is on the legs, and de Villiers works it away for a single. Smith guides the third ball of the over to gully for a single. De Villiers blocks a couple, but Blain drops short last ball and the right-handerswivels and pulls it through square-leg for four.

South Africa need 173 runs to win from 48 overs at 3.60 runs per over.
Blain will share the new ball for Scotland.
Over 1: Smith pats back a couple of gentle looseners from Hoffmann before crunching a drive straight down the ground for four. Two balls later, Hoffmann swings one into the pads and Smith cashes in again, whipping through midwicket for four more.
South Africa 8/0 (RR: 8.00): Smith 8* (6), de Villiers 0* (0)
South Africa need 179 runs to win from 49 overs at 3.65 runs per over.
Smith and de Villiers will open the batting for South Africa. Hoffmann will bowl the first over of the innings.
The Scotland team are out on the field to try and defend their total of 186 for eight.
Scotland: 186 for eight (50 overs)
South Africa need 187 to win at 3.74 runs per over
Scotland have dragged themselves up to a competitive total thanks to the late efforts of Brown, Blain and Hoffmann. Surely not enough to trouble South Africa, but the Saltires have managed to get through their 50 overs which is encouraging.
Over 50: Entertaining scenes at the end there, but Scotland may have left their charge too late.
Scotland 186/8 (RR: 3.72): Brown 45* (64)

P Hoffmann run out (Boucher/Hall) 18 (11):
Brown gets the first ball of the over to third-man for a single. Hoffmann backs away too far to the next ball and can't reach it. Hoffmann goes after the next one and gets a thin edge to the boundary, and this is Scotland's highest World Cup score now. Hoffmann backs away too far again next ball. Brown calls Hoffmann through for a bye from ball five. Boucher throws to Hall who misses the stumps and the batsmen get a second run. Hoffmann misses the final ball and is run out this time attempting another bye.
Hall is set to bowl the final over of the innings.
Over 49: Brown cuts hard to deep point for a single. Hoffmann plays another slog, but this time does make contact and gets the ball over third-man for six runs. He tries the shot for a third time but misses altogether. Hoffmann goes legside next ball, and gets it away for a one-bounce four to Langeveldt's dismay. Hoffmann clubs the fifthe ball of the over straight past the bowler for another boundary. A swing and a miss to end the over, but a great one for Scotland.
Scotland 179/7 (RR: 3.65): Brown 44* (63), Hoffmann 14* (6)
Over 48: Brown gets a single from the fifth ball of the over, and Hoffmann tries and fails to slog the final ball of the over out of the park.
Scotland 164/7 (RR: 3.42): Brown 43* (62), Hoffmann 0* (1)
Paul Hoffmann is the new batsman, but he won't be on strike.

JAR Blain c Kemp b Hall 23 (35)
Four mroe to Brown from a thick inside edge through his legs and down to the fine-leg fence. He gets a single from the next ball to bring up a cracking 50 partnership between these two. Hall's next ball is a perfect yorker that Balin has to dig out for no run, while the next ball is carved over point by Blain, where Kemp takes a classy diving catch.
Over 47: Brown hammers the ball over cover, but de Villiers does brilliantly on the boundary to save two runs. The 150 comes up in fine style next ball as Brown hammers a drive down the ground for a quality boundary. Brown gets the next ball to long-off for a single, and Blain smashes the final ball of Langeveldt's over clear of Pollock at long-off for a maximum. That's 27 runs from the last two overs.
Scotland 158/6 (RR: 3.36): Brown 37* (59), Blain 23* (33)
Over46: Shot! Brown backs away and smashes a drive through wide mid-off for four as Hall overpitches. A huge mow gets a single as the ball trickles into the legside off the inside edge, and Blain gets a single with a guide to third-man. Brown gets another single with a thumping drive to long-off. Hall bangs in a bouncer that is called a wide, and Blain hammers the next ball through cover for a couple. Blain clumps the final ball of the over down the ground for four more, and that's comfortably Scotland's best over of the innings, 14 coming from it.
Scotland 145/6 (RR: 3.15): Brown 30* (56), Blain 17* (30)
Over 45: Langeveldt fires a couple of wides down the legside. Blain flicks the fifth legitimate ball of the over to leg for a single, and the batsmen scamper a leg-bye from the final ball.
Scotland 131/6 (RR: 2.91): Brown 24* (53), Blain 10* (27)
Over 44: Almost a mix-up, as Blain and Brown each take half a run, then almost an ovethrow but end up with nothing. Blain gets a single from the next ball, and Brown gets another with a thick inside edge past his stumps. Blain fends to gully for a single, and the last ball somehow misses the bat, pads and stumps on its way through to Boucher.
Scotland 127/6 (RR: 2.89): Brown 24* (52), Blain 9* (22)
Hall is back into the attack.
Over 43: Blain gets the ball to long-leg for a couple, and shovels into a legside for another single. Brown gets the ball down the ground for one, and Blain fends a short ball to leg for another single to end the over.
Scotland 124/6 (RR: 2.88): Brown 23* (49), Blain 7* (19)
Langeveldt is into the attack with Pollock bowled out.
Over 42: Blain gets the ball into the legside for a single. Brown biffs over cover for a single, and Blain adds another from the final ball of the over, but Scotland just can't get any momentum here.

Kallis is back into the attack for South Africa.
Over 41: Brown hammers a pull shot into the legside, but gets just a single to the sweeper. Blain plays a couple of solid defensive shots, but time is running out for Scotland here. Blain does eventually get off the mark with a single from the final ball of Pollock's over.
Scotland 116/6 (RR: 2.83): Brown 21* (46), Blain 1* (10)
Over 40: Brown tries to hook Ntini and makes precisely no contact. Brown gets a single with a force through cover off the back foot, and Blain plays the last three balls of the over in solid defence.
Scotland 114/6 (RR: 2.85): Brown 20* (45), Blain 0* (5)
Over 39: Blain ducks a bouncer and then blocks the final ball of a successful over for Pollock.
Scotland 113/6 (RR: 2.90): Brown 19* (42), Blain 0* (2)
John Blain is the new batsman.

CJO Smith b Pollock 15 (30)
Brown gets a single to deep cover, before Smith plays all round a straight one from Pollock and has his furniture disturbed.
Over 38: Brown gets a single from the first ball of the over. Smith hammers a drive, but straight at mid-off and he gets no runs. A push through point gets him a single, and Brown gets another to third-man to keep the strike.

Ntini back into the attack.
Over 37: Smith gets four from a slash to third-man in an otherwise-tidy comeback from Pollock.

Scotland 105/5 (RR: 2.92): Brown 16* (38), Smith 10* (18)
Over 35: Three singles from the first five balls of the over, and then the first boundary isn 16 overs as G Smith drops short and gets carted over square-leg by C Smith.
Scotland 101/5 (RR: 2.89): Brown 13* (35), Smith 9* (15)
Over 34: Brown works to leg for a single from the fifth ball of the over, and Kallis gets through another tidy one.
Scotland 94/5 (RR: 2.76): Brown 11* (32), Smith 4* (12)
Drinks, and they're needed on a hot day in St Kitts. South Africa have done a really professional job here, suffocating the Scotland innings and, as the pressure has mounted so the mistakes have come and wickets start to fall.
Over 33: Brown punches down the ground for a single, and Colin Smith adds another single off his namesake Graeme. Brown gets a single to midwicket from the final ball of the over.
Scotland 93/5 (RR: 2.82): Brown 10* (27), Smith 4* (11)
Over 32: Just two singles from Kallis' over as South Africa continue to squeeze Scotland.
Scotland 90/5 (RR: 2.81): Brown 8* (22), Smith 3* (10)
Over 31: Smith bowling to Smith. Why did he bring himself now, just as Colin Smith came in to bat? Just to annoy me, I'll wager. Anyway, batting Smith cuts bowling Smith for a single, and Brown gets two with a sweep to end the over.
Scotland 88/5 (RR: 2.84): Brown 7* (18), Smith 2* (8)
Smith has brought himself into the attack.
Over 30: Smith gets off the mark with a single from the final ball of Kallis' over.

Colin Smith - who made 51 against Australia - is the new batsman for Scotland.
WICKET!
R Watson run out (de Villiers) 31 (50)
Big wicket for South Africa as de Villiers - who has been brilliant here today, throws down the stumps after Brown called Watson through for a very dodgy single.
Over 29: Watson pushes to mid-on and scurries through for a single. Ntini bangs one in short, and it comes off Brown's pads for a leg-bye. Ntini varies his position on the bowling crease, tucking Watson up and keeping him stuck at that end.
Scotland 84/4 (RR: 2.90): Watson 31* (50), Brown 6* (14)
Over 28: Watson plays an ugly pull shot that is reminiscent of his downfall against Australia, but on this occasion he keeps the ball down and gets a single. Brown forces Kallis into the covers off the back foot and gets a quick single. Watson eases the next ball out to the cover sweeper for a leisurely single, and Brown adds another with a flick to midwicket. Watson gets a single from the final ball of Kallis' over, and it's a better one for Scotland.
Scotland 82/4 (RR: 2.93): Watson 30* (45), Brown 5* (13)
Over 27: Watson pushes to mid-on for a single, but that's all Scotland can get from a tidy comeback over from Ntini. Scotland need to get the pedal down at some stage here.

Ntini is back into the attack for South Africa.
Over 26: Watson gets the first ball away for a single, and Brown gets another from a firm drive despite a wonderful diving stop from de Villiers. Watson gets another from ball five, but another great stop from de Villiers denies Brown runs.
Scotland 76/4 (RR: 2.92): Watson 26* (39), Brown 3* (7)
Over 25: Brown gets off the mark first ball with a flick to leg for two runs, and plays out the rest of the over safely.

Dougie Brown is the new batsman for Scotland.

NFI McCallum b Langeveldt 1 (21)
McCallum's uncomfortable vigil comes to an end after 21 balls of strokeless purgatory.
Over 24: Watson drives through point for a single, and McCallum finally gets off the mark with a single from his 19th delivery. Tidy start from Kallis.
Scotland 71/3 (RR: 2.96): Watson 24* (36), McCallum 1* (19)
Jacques Kallis is into the attack for South Africa.
Over 23: The second ball of Langeveldt's over cannons off Watson's pads for a leg-bye, and McCallum still can't get the ball away, and has now faced 14 balls without getting off the mark.
Scotland 69/3 (RR: 3.00): Watson 23* (35), McCallum 0* (14)
Over 22: Watson tucks the ball into the legside for a couple of runs, before ducking under a sharp bouncer from Hall. What should be the final ball of the over is down the legside and signalled wide, and the actual final delivery is worked to leg for a single.

Neil McCallum is the new batsman.

GM Hamilton c de Villiers b Hall 4 (13)
Loose shot from Hamilton, driving uppishly into the hands of AB de Villiers at cover.
Over 19: If Watson hangs around this could be fun. Langeveldt's first ball is short and wide, and Watson smashes it through point for four. Watson wants a single from ball five, but is rightly sent back by Hamilton. Watson turns like a tug boat, but gets back safely.
Scotland 63/2 (RR: 3.32): Watson 19* (26), Hamilton 4* (12)
Over 18: Hall finds Hamilton's outside edge, but the ball bounces just in front of Smith at slip. Hamilton drives the next ball into the covers and gets a single as Gibbs dives to field. Watson is down the track again next ball, but makes no contact. Watson goes for another big shot, but gets a thick outside edge that bounces just short of Pollock at third-man.
Scotland 59/2 (RR: 3.28): Watson 15* (20), Hamilton 4* (12)
Drinks. Scotland have made a reasonable start here, and look well-placed to reach a competitive total. Ntini was disappointing with the new ball, but Hall and Langeveldt have shown their value as change bowlers, each picking up a wicket in their first over.
Over 17: Hamilton works to fine-leg for a single, and Watson shows attacking intent by coming down the track and heaving a pull through midwicket for two runs. It's a shot a ball from the Scotland skipper, and entertaining stuff.
Scotland 57/2 (RR: 3.35): Watson 14* (16), Hamilton 3* (10)
Over 16: Hamilton guides the ball just wide of Gibbs at backward-point for a single, and Watson gets four with a crunching boundary through point off the back foot. Watson gets a second boundary in the over with a pull shot over square-leg as a short ball from Hall rises only to chest height. Good batting.
Scotland 54/2 (RR: 3.38): Watson 12* (13), Hamilton 2* (7)
The final powerplay is taken by South Africa.
Over 15: Langeveldt greets Hamilton with a very short bouncer that is rightly called wide by the umpire. Hamilton gets off the mark with a single to third-man, and the final ball of the over is blocked by Watson.
Scotland 45/2 (RR: 3.00): Watson 4* (10), Hamilton 1* (4)
Gavin Hamilton is the new batsman for Scotland.

F Watts c Smith b Langeveldt 24 (44)
Again a bowling change brings instant reward as Watts edges into the grateful hands of Smith at slip.
Langeveldt is into the attack in place of Pollock.
Over 14: Watts guides a single to third-man, and Watson then comes down the track to Hall and hammers a drive through cover for four.
Scotland 43/1 (RR: 3.07): Watts 24* (43), Watson 4* (9)
Over 13: Watts pushes a drive through point, and a slight misfield from Gibbs allows the batsman to collect two runs. A guide to third-man gets Watts a single, and he looks very solid now.
Scotland 38/1 (RR: 2.92): Watts 23* (40), Watson 0* (6)
Over 12: Watson blocks his first three balls, getting plenty of verbal encouragement from old schoolfriend Graeme Smith at slip. The final ball hits the pads, but the leg-before appeal is turned down. Probably missing leg. Successful start for Hall though.
Scotland 35/1 (RR: 2.92): Watts 20* (36), Watson 0* (4)
Scotland's stand-in captain Ryan Watson is the new batsman.
WICKET!
RM Haq c Boucher b Hall 13 (33)
Hall's first ball flicks off Watts' thigh pad for a leg-bye, but Hall strikes next ball, drawing a fairly ordinary waft outside off stump from Haq, who gets a thin edge through to Boucher.
Andrew Hall replaces Ntini, who wasn't quite at his best in his opening spell.
Over 11: Watts tucks the ball into the legside for a clever single. Haq flicks to leg and collects a single after a misfield backing up. Not for the first time today, Haq runs straight down the middle of the pitch, which will soon incur the umpires' wrath. Watts guides to third-man for a single.
Scotland 34/0 (RR: 3.09): Watts 20* (35), Haq 13* (32)
South Africa take the second powerplay.
Over 10: Here we go! Watts smashes a pull shot off the front foot over square-leg for six and then drives the next ball down the ground. He has to settle for a single as Charl Langeveldt makes a sprawling stop, but those are two cracking shots, and Ntini doesn't look too impressed.
Scotland 31/0 (RR: 3.10): Watts 18* (33), Haq 12* (28)
Over 9: Shot of the morning from Haq, easing a sweet drive through the covers for his first boundary. Haq gets a second boundary from the over with a controlled pull through square-leg, and Scotland are going along OK here.
Scotland 24/0 (RR: 2.67): Watts 11* (29), Haq 12* (26)
Over 8: Vicious lifting delivery from Ntini, jerking Haq back in his stance and fizzing over the shoulder of the bat and through to Boucher at head height. Not sure where that came from. Haq works to midwicket for a single, and the next ball raps Watts on the pads. Optimistic appeal from Ntini with height and line a problem. Watts guides the next ball to Gibbs at gully, and sets off on a wildly optimistic run. Haq sends him back, but too late. However, Gibbs' shy at the stumps misses with Watts stranded, and the batsman survives.
Scotland 16/0 (RR: 2.00): Watts 11* (29), Haq 4* (20)
Over 7: Haq guides the ball nicely to third-man for a single, and Watts defends the rest of a typically accurate Pollock over.
Scotland 15/0 (RR: 2.14): Watts 11* (26), Haq 3* (17)
Over 6: Watts gives a full swing at one outside off stump, and gets reward for his aggression as the ball flies off the top edge to the third-man boundary. Ntini offers nofurther chance to free the arms, and there are no further runs from the over.
Scotland 14/0 (RR: 2.33): Watts 11* (22), Haq 2* (15)
Over 5: Watts plays an indiscrimnate waft outside off stump and is lucky not to make contact. The next ball is too straigh from Pollock, and Watts is able to shovel it to leg for a single. Haq plays a couple of pleasing drives into the covers, but can't find the gaps.
Scotland 10/0 (RR: 2.00): Watts 7* (16), Haq 2* (15)
Over 4: Glorious shot from Watts, driving a full half-volley from Ntini through point for the first boundary of the day. Ntini follows with a no-ball, and Watts gets an inside edge to the next one, collecting a single as it runs to fine-leg. Haq defends the final two balls of the over.
Scotland 9/0 (RR: 2.25): Watts 6* (14), Haq 2* (11)
Over 3: Haq guides to third-man for a single, and Watts gets off the mark with a thick inside edge into the legside. Good start from the South African opening bowlers, but no damage yet for Scotland.
Scotland 3/0 (RR: 1.00): Watts 1* (10), Haq 2* (8)
Over 2: Ntini loves bowling to lefties, and he jags one past Haq's outside edge. Haq gets off the mark - just - next ball with a very tight single. The third umpire takes some time to find in favour of the batsman after a direct hit from mid-off. Watts plays out the over safely.
Scotland 1/0 (RR: 0.50): Watts 0* (9), Haq 1* (3)
The returning Makhaya Ntini will share the new ball.
Over 1: Pollock starts in trademark style with a maiden, watchfully played by Watts.
Scotland 0/0 (RR: 0.00): Watts 0* (6), Haq 0* (0)
Shaun Pollock to bowl the first over of the day.
Following a minute's silence for former South Africa coach Bob Woolmer, the Proteas take the field gfolloew by Scotland openers Fraser Watts and Majid Haq.
Mark Benson and Asoka De Silva are the umpires.
South Africa won the toss and elected to field first.
South Africa produced a wonderful batting display in their opening match against the Netherlands on Friday. It was a 40-0ver affair but records were broken left, right and centre.
Scotland will be hoping to follow the Irish example. Scotland's stand-in captain Ryan Watson and the South African captain Graeme Smith know eachother quite well. Watson is a former club captain of Smith's. It is a very small world! This is the first time South Africa and Scotland have played in an ODI.
Welcome to the crucial Group A encounter between South Africa and Scotland live from Warner Park in St Kitts. It should be a fascinating battle as the minnow nations have produced some wonderful displays in the World Cup.
