Another one of those make-shift paddles shots goes straight down the throat of Langeveldt at fine-leg and Nel has a World Cup five-fer. You go man!

Over 49: 63 off the last six overs now. An array of singles and another four for Ashraful - this time driven inside-out see yet another expensive over come to and end. Graeme Smith must be pulling his hair out. SA looked certain to chase something in the region of 190 but the last half-a-dozen overs sure have changed that story.
    Bangladesh 248/7 (RR: 5.06): Rafique 2* (4), Ashraful 87* (82)

Over 48: Another premeditated stroke brings Ashraful another four and he is now into the 80s. Who knows! If everything goes his way in the next two over he might get a ton. Two more singles and the 48th over is done with.
    Bangladesh 239/7 (RR: 4.97): Rafique 1* (2), Ashraful 80* (78)

Mohammad Rafique is the new man in.

    M Mortaza b Nel 25 (16)

A dsot ball and then a much needed wicket for SA Mortaza looks to hit another one out of the park but Nel fires in the perfect yorker and the big-hitting all-rounder is castled. So ends that dangerous stand and gives Nel his fourth wicket of the day.

Over 47: These two are near unstoppable for the moment. 52 runs off the last four overs. Langeveldt bowling full-tosses and getting paddled past short fine-leg for four, then driven for two A rank half-volley is then guided past point for four and the SA bowling attack is in a period of tatters.
    Bangladesh 233/6 (RR: 4.95): Mortaza 25* (14), Ashraful 75* (76)

Over 46: Oh wow! SA need to get Mortaza out now. He bangs a six back over Ntini's head and then swings him through mid-wicket for four. A trio of singles on the trot make up the over. Ntini's spell is done - 61 runs in 10 overs - ouch!
    Bangladesh 221/6 (RR: 4.80): Mortaza 24* (13), Ashraful 64* (71)

Over 45: This partnership is already 29 runs off just 17 balls and SA are letting it all slip now. Mortaza gets in on the boundary act and lambastes one down the ground for four and then takes advantage of the fact that thefine-leg fielder is up in the circled and paddles one past him for four. A two swung through square-leg and a brace of singles end another expensive over.
    Bangladesh 208/6 (RR: 4.62): Mortaza 13* (10), Ashraful 62* (68)

Over 44: 15 runs off the over! Three boundaries! Two of them on the trot! Ashraful bangs one back over the bowler's head to bring up his half-cnetury and then paddles one to fine-leg for another four... the cheek of that shot, wow. Two runs from a sort of slog-drive shot and then a four lambasted through point on the cut. Nice one from Ashraful. Ntini coming in for a bit of stick.

    M Rahim run-out Kemp 6 (13)

A terrible mix-up at the start of the over sees Kemp lob one in from the long-on ropes and Rahim run-out. Silly calling their from the youngster who was certainly ball watching. He's gone and Ashraful loses another partner. Bangladesh lose another wicket just as another stand was getting going. Shame.

    Nel back in the attack!

Over 42: A tidy little pull gives Rahim two and a brace of singles close off the over. It'll be really good for Rahim to bat out the rest of the innings with Ashraful, with the latter playing the aggressor role. Time will tell if that happens. Ntini not quite on top of his game today and would certainly fancied more than one wicket in Guyana today.
    Bangladesh 179/5 (RR: 4.26): Rahim 6* (13), Ashraful 47* (60)

Over 41: Three runs off the over. Langeveldt, eight wickets in his previous two matches, is having an okay day and must fell a bit hard done by with a couple of decisions not going his way. South Africa really struggling with their over-rate now, but that's always going to be a problem when you use six pace-bowlers and only one spinner.
    Bangladesh 174/5 (RR: 4.24): Rahim 3* (9), Ashraful 45* (58)

Over 40: Four runs from the over including another wide from Ntini. Only 10 overs to go now and some serious gas needs to be stepped on if Bangladesh plan to post something in the region of 230 - 240. When will Andre Nel return to the attack, one wonders. Ashraful continues to look good and will want to farm the strike a bit now.
    Bangladesh 171/5 (RR: 4.27): Rahim 2* (5), Ashraful 43* (56)

Over 39: Langeveldt bangs one in short Ashraful rocks onto the back foot, pulling fine for four. Rahim gets off the mark with a single and Langeveldt is erring in line a bit now. At least the over does not see a wide being bowled. Ashraful closing in on his half-ton and must bat until the very end now.
    Bangladesh 167/5 (RR: 4.28): Rahim 1* (2), Ashraful 41* (53)

    Over 38: Bangladesh 160/5 (RR: 4.21): Rahim 0* (0), Ashraful 34* (48)

18-year-old Mushfiqur Rahim is the new batsman.

    WICKET
    A Ahmed c Nel b Ntini 35 (43)

Nice return for Ntini who gets his first wicket as Ahmed and Ashraful gather a single each from the tight bowling. Ahmed then frees his arms and goes over extra cover but there is a man out there. Nel takes a well judged catch and Ahmed is amazed that he picked out the one and only fielder in that entire area. Hard luck mate. Off you go. So comes to an end a really good stand. Back to square one for Bangladesh... well not quite.

Kemp lasts just oneover as Ntini comes back into the attack.

Over 37: Langevldt fails to strike in his return over. Ahmed turns him down leg and it beats fine-leg - four. A single each for Ahmed and Ashraful builds on the worries of the SA captain who simply must not let the two of them start to dominate. Pollock's done but perhaps it is time to bring back Ntini or Nel.
    Bangladesh 158/4 (RR: 4.27): Ahmed 34* (38), Ashraful 34* (48)

    Langeveldt into the attack again.

Over 36: Useless start from Kemp who is launched into the stands twice. Six over mid-wicket and then six over the cow-corner fence as Ahmed lets lose. This partnership is certailny on the go now and SA could dearly do with a wicket. Ashraful quite content to just stand and watch as Ahmed cashes in on Kemp's 'pies'.
    Bangladesh 152/4 (RR: 4.22): Ahmed 29* (34), Ashraful 33* (46)

Justin Kemp into the attack, the seventh bowler of the day thus far.

Over 35: A trio of singles as Pollock's 10 overs for the day come to and end. He is wicketless but has conceded just 25 runs. Vintage Pollock!
    Bangladesh 139/4 (RR: 3.97): Ahmed 17* (28), Ashraful 32* (45)

Over 34: Two singles each and four leg-byes to fine-leg off the pads of Ahmed make up the over and yes... Bangladesh's run-rate as finally cracked the four-run mark. Relatviely poor over from Kallis today who has not looked good with the ball in hand. He'd better do better with the bat... if he gets the chance.
    Bangladesh 136/4 (RR: 4.00): Ahmed 16* (27), Ashraful 30* (41)

Over 33: A near run-out at the start of the over but these two blossoiming batters live to fight on. Pollock not looking like taking a wicket but certainly keeping the runs down as he is picked off for just three singles around the ground. More than that is needed if they are to post a good-ish total.
    Bangladesh 136/4 (RR: 3.87): Ahmed 14* (24), Ashraful 28* (38)

Over 32: A flick to the wide mid-on fence yields four runs for Ahmed preceeded by a nicely steered two to third-man. These two definitely up to the task for now. But wait for Nel to return... then we shall see. A bit of an aside: Herschelle Gibbs is off the field with a calf strain. Robin Peterson is on the field as substitute and Gibbs will only bat later if needed.
    Bangladesh 125/4 (RR: 3.90): Ahmed 12* (19), Ashraful 27* (37)

    Drinks break!

Over 31: Pollock, bowling off a shortened run-up, concedes just two runs off the over Ashraful as takes one down to third-man and Ahmed takes one to fine-leg. Good time for Pollock to return to the attack, wise thinking from skipper Smith as Ashraful and Ahmed look to up the run-rate quite a bit - both capable, but Pollock's on top right now.
    Bangladesh 119/4 (RR: 3.83): Ahmed 12* (19), Ashraful 21* (31)

    Pollock back in the attack.

Over 30: Ashraful takes to Kallis hooking and mis-timing over the 'keeper's head for four. The next ball is hammered through square-leg for another boundary and Kallis ain't impressed. The rest of the over brings little theatrics. Ahmed playing second fiddle to Ashraful for now.
    Bangladesh 117/4 (RR: 3.90): Ahmed 11* (14), Ashraful 20* (30)

Over 29: Ahmed gets away with it as umpire Mark Benson fails to hear or see the edge as Boucher and Smith go up for the appeal. That was certainly out but Ahmed gets lucky. A wide... yes another and a quick scamper through for a single almost bring an end to the over but off the last ball Ahmed goes big back over Smith's head for four.
    Bangladesh 109/4 (RR: 3.75): Ahmed 11* (14), Ashraful 12* (24)

Over 28: Ashraful picks up a nicely timed two down to third-man but then fails todo anything else with the remainder of the over, merely blocking it out and not even trying to penetrate the in-field.
    Bangladesh 102/4 (RR: 3.64): Ahmed 6* (11), Ashraful 11* (21)

Over 27: Smith is picked off for four singles around the ground as Bangladesh notch up their ton. Slowly, but it has arrived... finally. South Africa trying to race through their overs now, perhaps concerned with the over-rate.
    Bangladesh 100/4 (RR: 3.70): Ahmed 6* (11), Ashraful 9* (15)

Over 26: A single, another wide and a nice deflection down to third-man for two by Ashraful make up a decent over from Kallis. Kallis, having a good World Cup with the bat, looking to add to his all-rounder status with a wicket or two today.
    Bangladesh 96/4 (RR: 3.69): Ahmed 4* (7), Ashraful 7* (13)

Over 25: Five off Smith's first over including two wides and a trio of singles picked off around the ground. With Robin Peterson not selected again. it will be Smith to do all the spin work today. One fancies he'll have a four over spell here and perhaps one or two later. However, if SA get another wicket soon there will be good reason to bring Nel back into the attack to finish them off... maybe.
    Bangladesh 92/4 (RR: 3.68): Ahmed 3* (6), Ashraful 5* (8)

    Spinner Smith into the attack.

Over 24: Kallis completes his over with a couple more dot balls but then two wides. Ahmed gets off the mark with a quick single to the leg-side and Bangladesh now need to build another partnership. Hopefully for them, this is the one.
    Bangladesh 87/4 (RR: 3.62): Ahmed 1* (2), Ashraful 4* (6)

Aftab Ahmed, normally in at number three, is the new batsman in six.

    WICKET
    S Hasan c Smith b Kallis 9 (27)

Hasan's dogged stint out in the middle as he hits a rising delivery straight to Smith at backward point. It was there for the cut but the batter failed to keep it along the ground. Instant success for Kallis after a couple of dot balls which built the pressure.

    Jacques Kallis into the attack.

Over 23: Another decent over for the batting side. One gets the feeling that if SA get one or two more wickets it could start a serious rot in the order. For now though, it is Hasan and Ashraful who continue on their merry way. Langeveldt getting slapped to the backward point fence for for by Hasan in that over.
    Bangladesh 84/3 (RR: 3.65): Hasan 9* (23), Ashraful 4* (6)

Over 22: Bangladesh up their run-rate a bit with a five-run over. Hasan goes on the pull twice, getting a two and then a one off a no-ball. Nel bowling quickly today, a lot quicker than Ntini for sure. He's just got to tidy up a bit on the wide and no-ball side of things.
    Bangladesh 79/3 (RR: 3.59): Hasan 4* (19), Ashraful 4* (4)

Over 21: Just a quick single taken to mid-off off the over as Langeveldt continues to restrict the runs. Hasan finally off the mark and it is safe to say Bangladesh failed to take advantage of the field restrictions during the previous 20 powerplay overs. Well, all the powerplays are done so no more chances for them.
    Bangladesh 74/3 (RR: 3.52): Hasan 1* (13), Ashraful 4* (2)

Over 20: The last ball of the over rockets to the boundary as a rank half-volley on the leg-stump is smashed through mid-wicet for four. Ashraful means business and is off to a great start - that was well-timed.
    Bangladesh 73/3 (RR: 3.65): Hasan 0* (8), Ashraful 4* (1)

Mohammad Ashraful is the new batsman out in the middle.

    WICKET
    T Iqbal c Boucher b Nel 38 (59)

Nel sends through a couple of dot balls and then fires in a short one. Igbal guides over the 'keeper's head and it'sfour. The next ball is a case of one big hit too many as an attempted pull only manages and edge which Boucher pouches easily. Third wicket of the day for Nel.

Over 19: More extras thanks to another no-ball and a leg-bye. Hasan can't get off the mark yet but Iqbal gets one more runs as he punches to third-man. One of these men need to bat right up to the closing overs if their side are to post something of a decent total.
    Bangladesh 65/2 (RR: 3.42): Hasan 0* (8), Iqbal 34* (54)

Over 18: Hasan plays out three dot balls and then nabs a quick leg-bye. Nel finishes his successful over with a wide and a no-ball and then another dot ball as Hasan and Iqbal look to consolidate after the loss of their skippe. South Africa have now bowled over 1000 wides since their re-admission to ODI cricket.
    Bangladesh 62/2 (RR: 3.44): Hasan 0* (4), Iqbal 33* (51)

Saqibul Hasan is the new batsman.

    WICKET
    H Bashar c and b Nel 5 (14)

Nel gets his second wicket of the day straight after the drinks break. Bashar's terrible run of form as he departs. Nel takes a really sharp caught-and-bowled opportunity as Bashar defends but on the up, his weight was on the right foot and he had to lunge to the left to take that. Nice.

    Drinks break!

Over 17: Eight runs off the over as Bashar and Iqbal get going after the loss of Omar. Nel employs some fancy fielding down at third-man to stop a four - two runs only. Bashar drives a full one for one and then Iqbal gathers another boundary as he hammers one back past the bowler... no mercy. One more no-ball, a couple of dots and the over is done with.
    Bangladesh 59/1 (RR: 3.47): Bashar 5* (13), Iqbal 33* (49)

Over 16: Bashar gets off the mark, Bangladesh register their collective half-ton, four runs picked off around the ground and Nel frustrated and erring in line. You can't get a wicket every over mate - someone should tell him that.
    Bangladesh 47/1 (RR: 3.18): Bashar 2* (7), Iqbal 29* (48)

Third and final powerplay to be taken with Nel to continue.

Over 15: Iqbal will not be stifled by the loss of his opening partner and gets after Langeveldt straight away. He lambasted him over cover for four. Wow! What a stroke - the shot of the day thus far. He then drives but does not middle it but they take a single anyway. Bashar plays out the rest of the over, failing to get off the mark just yet.
    Bangladesh 51/1 (RR: 3.13): Bashar 0* (5), Iqbal 27* (44)

Charl Langevledt is into the attack in the place of Pollock.

Over 14: Bashar survives the last two balls of the over giving Nel a wicket maiden. Bashar's first ball faced nipped back quite a bit and nearly took out his off-stump.
    Bangladesh 42/1 (RR: 3.00): Bashar 0* (2), Iqbal 22* (41)

Skipper Habibul Bashar - a touch out of form - is the new batter, pushed up the order.

    WICKET
    J Omar c Smith b Nel 17 (41)

Nel fires in the pace and has Omar on the defensive. The fourth ball of the over ain't that great but gets the wicket. Omar hits hard at a wide on but straight down the throat of the SA skipper at deep gully. Great field placing and the first wicket of the day for SA.

Over 13: Pollock completes another respectable over but could have had a wicket. Boucher puts down a sharp catch off the bat of Iqbal. It was really tough but can still be deemed as a dropped catch. A single to fine-leg for Omar and another for Iqbal to backward point make up the over.
    Bangladesh 42/0 (RR: 3.23): Omar 17* (37), Iqbal 22* (41)

Over 12: Nel starts off pretty well, on fire from the get-go. Iqbal decides to go after him straight away, swinging and missing and then dancing down the track to smack one over cover - just one. Nel has a word or two with the batsman and the battle is on. Omar then prods to third-man for two. Nel changes his line to slightly wider but with little effect.
    Bangladesh 40/0 (RR: 3.33): Omar 16* (35), Iqbal 21* (37)

Here he is! Nel into the attack.

Over 11: Just a single off Pollock's sixth over. South Africa would certainly have expected more movement off the track today but it is yet to happen. Boucher standing up to the stumps proving handy as Iqbal has quietned down quite a bit in recent overs.
    Bangladesh 37/0 (RR: 3.36): Omar 14* (31), Iqbal 20* (35)

SA to take the second powerplay.

Over 10: Ntini struggling with his line a bit gets picked off for runs down the leg-side. Two runs off the over and now the question has to asked. When will the recalled Andre Nel be brought into the attack? If he's hot he's on fire but if he's cold he's an ice-block. SA will be hoping it's the former today. Poor Andrew Hall sitting this one out today.
    Bangladesh 36/0 (RR: 3.60): Omar 14* (30), Iqbal 19* (30)

Over 9: Omar gets in on the boundary act and whips one through square for a boundary. A quick single give Iqbal the strike again who is still intent on using his feet to the pacemen. 'Keeper Mark Boucher steps up to the stumps and that keeps Iqbal at bay. This is Bangladesh's highest opening partnership now in their OSI history against SA.
    Bangladesh 34/0 (RR: 3.77): Omar 13* (25), Iqbal 18* (29)

Over 8: Iqbal and Omar pick up another single each as Ntini's pace continues to get the better of them for now. Iqbal decides enough is enough off the last ball of the over and dances well down the pitch. He meets the ball on the up and heaves it over wide mid-off. It just makes the ropes and the shackles are lose again. Iqbal once again playing the role of the aggressor an Omar playing the anchor role.
    Bangladesh 29/0 (RR: 3.62): Omar 8* (21), Iqbal 18* (27)

Over 7: Omar faces the entire over banging Pollock through point for four and blocking the rest of the over our. Pollock doing well to peg things back quite a bit after conceding that ealry boundary. One more wide brings the over's tally to five. SA certainly would have fancied a wicket by now. Alas, not yet.
    Bangladesh 23/0 (RR: 3.28): Omar 7* (20), Iqbal 13* (22)

Over 6: Fruitful over for Bangladesh as they display the selection of shots under their belt. A sweet straight-drive yields two runs while a couple of leg-side strokes through mid-wicket and aquare-leg bring their run-rate back up to three. Iqbal really coming into his own now.
    Bangladesh 18/0 (RR: 3.00): Omar 3* (14), Iqbal 13* (22)

Over 5: Just a single from the over as Pollock continues to gets his line near perfect. Omar prods one down to third-man to double his oh so slow tally to two while Pollock mixes up his pace a bit throwing a couple of slower ones into the mix.
    Bangladesh 13/0 (RR: 2.60): Omar 2* (13), Iqbal 9* (17)

Over 4: Ntini cashes in on some poor shot selection bagging his first maiden of the match. Iqbal is clearly in a hurry and very hungry for boundaries. He drives at a couple and misses on all occasions. Surely those slip-fielders will come into play sooner rather than later with this gut on strike. He almost played on off the first ball of the over but the ball only justmissed his off-stump.
    Bangladesh 12/0 (RR: 3.00): Omar 1* (11), Iqbal 9* (13)

Over 3: Another tight over from Pollock as gets off the mark and Iqbal gets a single to add to his two boundaries from the previous over. Pollock delivers a leg-side wide but corrects it with four solid dot balls to end the over.
    Bangladesh 12/0 (RR: 4.00): Omar 1* (11), Iqbal 9* (7)

Over 2: Eventful opening over for Ntini as he starts off with a really wide wide. A couple of balls later Iqbal frees his arms and smashes one through cover for the first boundary of the innings. Iqbal plays and misses at a couple that are swinging right across him and then he flashes at a wide one which top-edges of the slips - four more. Banglasesh off to a rocketing start now following Pollock's maiden.
    Bangladesh 9/0 (RR: 4.50): Omar 0* (6), Iqbal 8* (6)

Makhaya Ntini to share the new ball with Ntini.

Over 1: Pollock kicks off proceedings with a madien over. Nice length, nice line - typical Pollock. Omar chooses to let most of them through but has a swing at one toward the end of the over, misses, and looks foolish. Pollock then makes him play at two on the middle-stump to end off the maiden.
    Bangladesh 0/0 (RR: 0.00): Omar 0* (6), Iqbal 0* (0)

Shaun Pollock to take the new ball for the S'Africans - looking to take advantage of the overcast conditions. Two slip-fielders in place.

Javed Omar and Tamim Iqbal to open the batting.

All and sundry are out on the field and with no rain clouds about (for once) we're all set to start on time.

Bangladesh are unchanged while speedster Andre Nel comes in for all-rounder Andrew Hall in the SA team.

Bangladesh: Javed Omar, Tamim Iqbal, Aftab Ahmed, Saqibul Hasan, Habibul Bashar, Mohammad Ashraful, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mashrafe Mortaza, Mohammad Rafique, Abdur Razzak, Syed Rasel.

South Africa: Graeme Smith, AB De Villiers, Jacques Kallis, Herschelle Gibbs, Ashwell Prince, Justin Kemp, Mark Boucher, Shaun Pollock, Andre Nel, Charl Langeveldt, Makhaya Ntini.

South Africa have won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Hello and welcome to the Super Eight clash between South Africa and Bangladesh in Guyana.
