  • Powerplay overs in red.

Kenya (203 for three) beat Canada (199 all out) by seven wickets with 6.4 overs remaining
An outstanding unbeaten stand between Steve Tikolo and Tanmay Mishra sees Kenya to a clinical victory over the rather hopelessly hopeful Canadians. It's back to the drawing board for John Davison and company while Tikolo and troops must be well pleased and ready to take on the bigger nations - perhaps causing an upset somewhere down the line.

Kenya 203/3 after 43.2 overs (RR: 4.70): Tikolo 72* (77), Mishra 35* (53)Mishra hammers the final four of the match through the covers to bring up the Kenyan triumph!

Kenya need 1 run to win from 7 overs at 0.30 runs per over.

Dhaniran is back in the attack as well.

Kenya need 8 runs to win from 8 overs at 1.00 runs per over.

Osinde is into the attack for one final effort.

Over 41: Kenya are just getting batting practice now as they milk left-armer Bhatti all around the park for singles left, right and centre.
    Kenya 186/3 (RR: 4.90): Tikolo 62* (67), Mishra 28* (48)
Kenya need 14 runs to win from 9 overs at 1.80 runs per over.

Over 40: Ouch! Samad comes in for some stick as Tikolo lashes him through the covers for four and then picks up a single. Mishra then lofts one over mid-on for four followed by another single.
    Kenya 182/3 (RR: 4.40): Tikolo 60* (64), Mishra 26* (46)
Kenya need 18 runs to win from 10 overs at 2.40 runs per over.

Kenya need 29 runs to win from 11 overs at 2.70 runs per over.

Kenya need 34 runs to win from 13 overs at 2.70 runs per over.

Bhatti is back in the attack for his third spell of the day.

Over 36: Tikolo smashes Cummins about a bit and goes to his 19th career half-ton to go with two centuries. He is certainly the best batsman in the world amongst those who don't compete at Test level.
    Kenya 162/3 (RR: 4.50): Tikolo 52* (57), Mishra 14* (29)
Kenya need 38 runs to win from 14 overs at 2.80 runs per over.

Kenya need 51 runs to win from 16 overs at 3.20 runs per over.

Cummins is back into the attack, perhaps Canada's last hope.

Over 33: A near run-out off the last ball. Otherwise, very much a run-of-the-mill over picking up three runs. Canada need something special here if they are to pull off a win.

Kenya need 57 runs to win from 17 overs at 3.20 runs per over.

    Kenya 140/3 (RR: 4.20): Tikolo 38* (45), Mishra 10* (16)
Kenya need 60 runs to win from 18 overs at 3.20 runs per over.

Kenya need 66 runs to win from 20 overs at 3.20 runs per over.

Kenya need 74 runs to win from 21 overs at 3.50 runs per over.

Kenya need 80 runs to win from 23 overs at 3.50 runs per over.

    WICKET!
    M Ouma c Mulla b Dhaniram 58 (89)

Ouma's innings comes to an end with an undignified slog high into the air that is easilycaught at mid-off.

Over 26: Two more singles for Kenya. Damn, Canada really need to try something different here! This is all too easy for Tikolo and co. Come on gents!
    Kenya 113/2 (RR: 4.80): Ouma 53* (84), Tikolo 28* (30)
Kenya need 87 runs to win from 24 overs at 3.50 runs per over.

Over 25: Dhaniram cashes in on some poor shot selection and rocks up with a maiden over.
    Kenya 111/2 (RR: 4.80): Ouma 52* (80), Tikolo 27* (28)
Kenya need 89 runs to win from 25 overs at 3.50 runs per over.

Over 24: Canada slip up again in the extras department. The Kenyans should take this clash at an absolute canter.
    Kenya 111/2 (RR: 4.80): Ouma 51* (79), Tikolo 25* (24)
Kenya need 89 runs to win from 26 overs at 3.50 runs per over.

Kenya need 98 runs to win from 27 overs at 3.50 runs per over.

    Ouma 50: 72 balls, 6 x 4s, 1 x 6

Over 22: Davison continues to be somewhat economical allowing just one single off his latest over. Go John go!

Kenya need 99 runs to win from 28 overs at 3.50 runs per over.

Kenya need 100 runs to win from 29 overs at 3.50 runs per over.

Sunil Dhaniram is the new bowler.

Over 20: An alright-ish over from Davison comes to an end as the Kenyans close in on needing less than 100 runs to win this battle of the minnows.
    Kenya 93/2 (RR: 4.60): Ouma 48* (69), Tikolo 14* (19)
Kenya need 107 runs to win from 30 overs at 3.60 runs per over.

Kenya need 110 runs to win from 31 overs at 3.50 runs per over.

Abdool Samad is into the attack.

Kenya need 121 runs to win from 32 overs at 3.80 runs per over.

Over 17: Bhatti delivers a rank full-toss which is put to the fence by Ouma. That ball really spoiled the previous three dot balls. Then there is another wide and quick single thanks to a misfield. Oh dear.

Skipper Davison brings himself into the attack.

Kenya need 157 runs to win from 40 overs at 3.90 runs per over.

Over 9: Apart from two more wides a decent over from Osinde comes to an end as we are seemingly entering a quieter passage of play following Ouma's earlier wield-willowing antics.
    Kenya 41/1 (RR: 4.60): Ouma 25* (27), Shah 2* (11)
Kenya need 159 runs to win from 41 overs at 3.90 runs per over.

Over 8: 40-year-old Cummins sends down another tight over, even though there were a couple of extras. He is starting to look a bit tired now. Davison might want to consider bringing on his second change bowler sometime soon.

Kenya need 172 runs to win from 44 overs at 3.90 runs per over.

    WICKET!
    D Obuya c Bagai b Cummins 4 (17)

Nice little breakthrough for the Candians as Obuya drives hard at a length delivery but manages only to edge it through to the wicketkeeper. Cummins and Canada are over the moon with that wicket!

Over 5: Trouble for Canada as Ouma opens up, firstly lashing one to cow-corner for four and then following that up with a mis-timed pulled over mid-wicket for a sweet sixer! Bhatti really ain't bowling well and perhaps skipper John Davison has to bring on somebody else.
    Kenya 27/0 (RR: 5.40): Ouma 20* (19), Obuya 4* (11)
Kenya need 173 runs to win from 45 overs at 3.80 runs per over.

Kenya need 191 runs to win from 48 overs at 4.00 runs per over.

Anderson Cummins will share the new ball with Bhatti.

Over 1: A confident drive for two through the covers for two from Obuya, a single from Ouma and a wide see Kenya off to a good start. Bhatti jams one into the blockhole with his last ball to remind the Kenyan openers that he is no push-over.
    Kenya 4/0 (RR: 4.00): Obuya 3* (3), Ouma 1* (3)
Kenya need 196 runs to win from 49 overs at 4.00 runs per over.
